For about $15 a month you can find any number of services that will receive/send faxes for you all hours of the day/night, and there's an awful lot you can do for free. Many services will store your faxes as well. This makes the most sense to me because it axes the need for a telephone and bulky fax machine. A scanner may be necessary if most of your documents are in that oh-so-tangible paper format. If only a few documents are on paper, go to Kinko's and get them scanned.
